Oxford Ladies reeled off a hat-trick of wins to claim victory in the five-a-side championship at Didcot Conservative Club, writes PETE EWINS.

Oxon opened up by beating Bucks 4-1.

Jenny Abbott (2,150), Pauline Withey (4,040) and newcomer Melissa Standbridge (4,540) won the first three games.

Bucks pulled one back before Sandra Tebby (5,120) completed victory.

Abbott (3,410), Withey (4,340) Standbridge (2,840), Tebby (4,140) and Sue Atkins (3,970) then whitewashed Berkshire 5-0.

Oxford sealed their title triumph with a 4-1 win over Witney.

Jane Wood (7,740) put Witney in front, but then Standbridge (2,840), Abbott (3,330), Atkins (4,300) and Tebby (5,210) took the next four games.

Witney's Debbie Barton posted the highest break of the tournament.

In the Inter Area C team competition first leg, Oxford D won 3-2 at home to Oxford Ladies.

Ian Gordon (4,960) and Craig Mace (3,020) put the D side 2-0 up.

Withey (7,530) pulled one back only to see Lewis Stratford (5,870) make it 3-1 to the D team.

Standbridge picked up the ladies’ second point with a 6,270-1,670 victory over Mick Murphy.

Dolphin’s Adam Thorn (7,000-3,660) went through to the next round of the Kernahan Cup with a 2-0 win over Lewis Stratford at Headington Conservative Club.

In the Off The Spot competition, Horse & Harrow's Gary Johnson (20,220-2,560) played brilliantly on the Shelley top to knock out Steven Sheard 2-0.
