Team manager Paul Kelsey feels that the flying Hawtin sisters represent Oxfordshire’s best hopes for honours in the junior events at the CAU Inter Counties Cross-Country Championships at Woollaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday.
Oxford City athletes Melissa (under 17 women), Lauren (under 15 girls) and Beth (under 13 girls) who finished sixth, 18th & sixth respectively at the English Championships last weekend, are all in good form.
Connie McMillan (Banbury) and Imogen Kempton (Oxford City) are both expected to do well in the under 15 girls' race, giving their team an excellent chance.
Top individual finishers in the boys' races should be under 13 Thomas Biegel (Banbury), under 15 Harry Robertson (Oxford), under 17 Jacob Simmons (Banbury) and under 20 Tim Traynor (White Horse Harriers).
The senior men's team is Steve Frear (Woodstock), Owain Bristow (Edinburgh), Steve Kimber (Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow), Alan Chetwynd (Oxford University), Darrell Bellinger (Oxford City), John Robertson (Oxford City), Simon Fisher (Abingdon), Paul Jegou (White Horse Harriers) and Tom Bradford (Hook Norton).
There is live coverage of the event on Sky Sports 3 from 11am until 3.30pm.
