Truro City 4 (Watkins 2, Walker 47, Ash 88, Rice pen 90)
Abingdon Utd 0
Abingdon's 220-mile trip to Cornwall proved fruitless as they fell to a heavy defeat against Division 1 South & West title hopefuls Truro.
They fell behind when Andy Watkins chipped an effort over Sam Warrell into the net.
Abingdon failed to muster a shot on goal in the first half, while Warrell saved well to deny Matt Hockley.
The second half saw the visitors concede early again when Warrell blocked a close-range effort, but Scott Walker followed up.
On the hour, Warrell dived full length to deny Truro a third goal, and Abingdon’s first effort on goal saw Billy Beechers’ effort hit a defender and loop into the arms of Truro keeper Martin Rice.
Abingdon lost Julian McCalmon with a head injury, before Beechers fired another effort at Rice.
Jake Ash stretched Truro’s lead two minutes from time, and then in stoppage time, Richard Peirson brought down a home striker to concede a penalty.
Keeper Rice took the spot-kick and gave Warrell no chance as he went for power to smash home.
Abingdon Utd: Warrell, Burton, Janes, Organ, Franklin, Peirson, McCalmon (Haysham 80), Benjamin (Biddle 55), Beechers, Odhiambo, Weedon (Austin 60).
Attendance: 445.
