NELSON’S Ian Gordon won the under 22 singles title at Didcot Conserevative Club after getting the better of Wallingford’s Joe Storch, writes PETE EWINS.
Gordon, who was in a group of four beat Northants’ Steven Coleman 2,800-1,300, but then lost to teammate Lewis Stratford.
In the third game he beat Craig Mace 3,200-1,900 from Berinsfield.
Gordon beat Reading’s Sam Holder in the semi-final.
In the men’s individual competition, title holder Keith Sheard eased to a 2-0 victory over Bob Allsworth at the Democrats Club.
Sheard won the first leg 12,510 (break 12,388) and the second (11,900 break) 11,400-3,120.
At Corner House, Alan Lacey defeated Mark Trafford, Kevin Godfrey gained revenge over Dave Rose and Maxi McDonnell knocked out Alan Lowe.
At Headington Con Club, Alan Oliver beat Phil Clark 2-0 and Geoff Mace won on aggregate against Stuart Florey 9,570-7,700.
Steven Sheard pulled off a 2-0 win against Gary Johnson after Johnson lost a break of 11,500 in the second leg.
In the the Bill Moore Cup, Gary Johnson bounced back to run out the table with 18,270 in his 2-0 win over Adam Thorn.
Sean Stratford reached the next round of the Never Won Cup winning 2-0 against Adam Thorn on the Masons top.
Stratford took the first leg 7,060-2,470 and the second leg 8,060-2850 (break 7,980).
Mick Jones also went through with an aggregate victory over Gordon 9,930-4,640.
