Chinnor coach Jason Bowers felt his side paid for a slow start against a very strong Canterbury side.
He said: “It was disappointing. I thought we didn’t come out of the blocks as we would have liked.
“They were a good quality side and showed, when we gave them space, they could be very dangerous.
“If you give a side 20 chances to attack in the first half, they are going to score at least three or four times.
“We probably went into half-time a bit shell-shocked, but they had a frank team talk.
“We played some much better rugby and were unlucky not to get the four-try bonus point.”
Bowers added: “I thought the referee had an indifferent game, which at times caused both teams problems.
“I thought some of the guys played well, like Ian Stock.
“It was good to have James Cathcart back in the side. We’ll look forward to having him at full fitness.”
