Wallingford were pipped 22-18 in a tough, physical game at Swanage & Wareham in South West 2 East.
The visitors commanded the early exchages and took the lead with a penalty from fly half Jackson Sayce.
Wallingford kept up the pressure, with lock Mike Turner setting up centre Angus Brettell for a try on ten minutes.
This seemed to spur Swanage on, and a well-worked line-out move saw Charlie Rowberry slice through the visitors’ defence.
Center Phil Graves slotted two penalties to put Swanage 11-8 up.
No 8 Paul Lewis slipped a neat off-load to prop Dave Keable, who scored his first try of the season and Sayce converted.
But Swanage hit back with a third Graves penalty.
A lacklustre second-half display from the visitors saw Rowberry bag his second try as the Wallingford defence had no answer to his pace.
Sayce slotted a penalty, but Wallingford lacked flair, and Graves’s fourth successful three-pointer sealed Swanage’s victory,
