Adam Chapman continued his fine form for Oxford United against Barrow last Saturday – though he covered his head in embarrassment after missing a golden chance when he shot against the outside of a post with the goal gaping at the Oxford Mail end.
Manager Chris Wilder has been pleased with his loan rangers and feels there’s no lack of effort or battling for the cause from any of them, despite them being not officially Oxford United players.
“People talk about loan signings and about commitment,” he said. “I can’t see Adam Chapman pulling out of tackles!
“He’s got a great football brain and I enjoy watching him.
“We think, when players come into our football club, they should use the experience, enjoy it and go back a better player, and we can build up these relationships with other football clubs.”
And, referring to director Jim Smith, he added: “We should use it to our advantage because we’re very fortunate to have here one of the most respected and well-known people in football.”
