You rarely expect rival coaches to agree totally in their assessment of a match, but it was polar opposites at Cane Lane on Saturday.
Grove defeated Chipping Norton 36-22 after coming from behind in their Southern Counties North derby.
Grove coach Nathan Brooks said: “A few lapses of concentration saw us concede scores for little reason.
“But with lots of character and the right attitude shown in the second half, this turned into a good local derby win against a side that appeared to think they had already won in the warm up.”
Chipping Norton’s director of rugby Andy Dawson said: “The score at the end flattered Grove. We played the better rugby all day and had to have so many players playing out of position is a testament to how much they give to this club.”
