Allan Matthews pipped his Oxford City clubmate Roy Treadwell to the vet 60 honours at the Apex Chiltern League meeting in a snowy Luton.
The pair both recorded a time of 43mins 16secs – but Matthews just got the nod on the line.
Trevor Dixon was sixth in the vet 50 category, clocking 40.20, while Dave Hartwell clocked 43.13.
Headington Roadrunner Jude Craft finished the Chiltern League season with a fine victory in the women’s race.
The vet 35 runner clocked 23.23, although Headington’s team narrowly missed out on the title.
Meanwhile, the youngest of the Hawtin sisters, Beth, was edged into second place in the under 13 girls’ race.
The 11-year-old clocked 10.09 to fly the flag for Oxford City’s juniors with her best finish of the season.
She was only pipped by Milton Keynes’s Jasmine Finlay, who crossed the line in 10.06.
The result gave Hawtin the overall bronze medal in the Chiltern League series.
Elissa Clarke finished 27th and Mya Walker 38th in the same race.
In the under 11 girls’ race, Beth Mulvany was 31st, while Ryan Meredith was 26th and William Handscombe 45th in the under 15 boys’ race.
Josh Tack crossed the line fifth in the under 13 boys’ event.
