Burnham 0
Didcot Tn 3 (Bird og 60, Roach 70, Dutton-Black 78)
Three goals in 18 minutes in the second half secured the points for Didcot Town in Division 1 South & West.
There was little to choose between the teams in a goalless first half as both sides struggled to come to terms with a muddy pitch.
Didcot debutant Philip John brought an early save out of Burnham keeper Francisco Ramos, while at the other end, Jordan Dowdican’s cross eluded everyone.
Michael Watkins produced a stunning double save that proved the turning point, first bravely denying Richard Jeffery and thentipping over Jeffery’s effort on the follow-up after a goal-line clearance from Matty Jack.
In the second half, Neville Roach should have done better when he fluffed a chance from 12 yards.
But the deadlock was broken on the hour when Josh Dutton-Black’s free-kick flew off Burnham skipper Ryan Bird, who was being pressurised by Jack King.
Roach doubled the lead on 70 minutes after converting Dutton-Black’s through ball.
Dutton-Black capped a good performance by grabbing his first goal for the club from 12 yards to secure Didcot’s first win in four matches.
Didcot Tn: Watkins, Heapy, Jack, Williams, Brown, Mortimer-Jones, Dutton-Black (Hopkins 86), King, Bartley, Roach, (Elkins 83), John.
