Lydney Tn 3 (Robbins 20, Lee pen 44, 62)
Letcombe 3 (Gifford 21, Claydon 31, 90)
Richard Claydon’s stoppage time volley secured Letcombe a point to take them back to the top of Division 1 West.
The Lydney pitch resembled a beach and was scarcely playable, with players slipping and sinking into the boggy surface.
Poor covering allowed Mike Robbins to open the scoring for Lydney, but Letcombe were level within a minute, Lyle Gifford finishing coolly.
The best move of the match saw Letcombe take the lead, Claydon firing into the far corner.
But the match swung on a contentious penalty decision on the stroke of half-time.
A Lydney player appeared to lose his footing in the mud, but the referee awarded a penalty, from which Mark Lee equalised.
Lee ran from midfield to fire Lydney in front in the second half, before Claydon’s strike rescued a point when all looked lost.
Headington Amateurs 2 (Jacobs 51, B Cuff 60)
Wootton Bassett Tn 2 (Banks 22, Terry 72)
Headington Amateurs took a creditable point against title-chasing Wootton Bassett.
After Headington had made the early running, Bassett produced a superb spell midway through the first half.
First Lee Moulton hit a post with a header in the 20th minute.
Moments later, Ryan Banks put Wootton in front with a clever run and shot, before skipping around Headington keeper Geoff Simmonds to slot home.
In the second half, Shaun Jacobs equalised for Headington six minutes after the restart.
Luke Cuff and Jacobs then combined to set up Benji Cuff to put Headington in front with a sharp turn and shot.
Although Bassett looked dangerous, Headington’s defence looked comfortable until the 72nd minute.
Conceding possession on the edge of their own penalty area, striker Shaun Terry punished the mistake with a fierce drive from close range.
Finchampstead 2 (Yorke-Goldney 70, Isaiew 90)
Launton Sports 0
Launton Sports are still searching for their first victory after this defeat in Division 1 East.
They produced a much-improved display under new manager Kevin Poole, and created a number of fine chances in a goalless first half.
Lee Parrack forced Finchampstead keeper Nicholas Rumsby into a save at his near post from a free kick.
Launton then forced a string of corners, with a dominant Rob Eason going close.
With half-time appraoching, Azzer Davies fired in a fine effort which clipped the back stanchion from 30 yards.
Launton started the second half in much the same vain, Rumsby denying Nick Neal as he was about to shoot.
Against the run of play, the home side went in front on 70 minutes when a ball was only half cleared to Robert Yorke-Goldney, who fired past Danny Clifford from the edge of the box.
Deep in stoppage time, the home side secured victory as Danny Isaiew fired home, leaving Launton pointless again.
