Jason Harrison, who led Oxford to the Home Counties League title in 2007, is to captain Bucks in the Minor Counties Championship next season.
The 37-year-old batsman, who will continue in charge at Oxford, takes over from Paul Atkins, who is standing down after ten years.
Harrison, who led Bucks for a season in 1998, will continue to give preference to county matches on Sunday, when they clash with Oxford's cup ties.
"That's the same arrangement as the past two years," said Harrison. "It's good to give youngsters a chance on Sundays."
Bucks have also recruited the South African-born Aston Rowant all-rounder Wesley Morrick, who has qualified for England through residency.
OXFORDSHIRE all-rounder Adam Cook has rejoined Cumnor as player-coach.
Cook has left Home Counties Premier League side Oxford to take up the role with Cumnor in The Oxford Times Cherwell League.
Cook will work alongside new captain Chris Mitty, who has returned following a season keeping wicket for Thame Town.
