Oxfordshire brought home two team silver medals from the South East Regional Sportshall finals at Burgess Hill.

The under 15 girls finished second in their competition behind Surrey.

Emma O’Hara took gold in the shot with an impressive throw of 9.88m, while Shana Parker won silver in the standing long jump with a leap of 2.36m.

Teaming up with Emily Moore, Parker collected bronze for equal-third in the two-lap race.

Susan Keets and Ellie Burns were second in the eight-lap paarlauf relay.

Also finishing in second were Oxon’s under 13 boys.

There were plenty of good results across all events.

George Axon cleared 1.45m to take silver in the high jump.

Meanwhile, Edward Burgess leapt 7.03m for bronze in the standing triple jump.

Axon and Burgess then teamed up to take silver in the eight-lap paarlauf relay.

Will Parsons recorded a score of 74 to take silver in the speed bounce, while James Wilson took bronze in the four-lap race.

Jonah Sweeney recorded 2.20m for bronze in the standing long jump, while the 4x2 lap relay team of Tom Bosher, Cameron Downer, James Wilson and Edward Wilson secured another bronze medal.

Oxon’s under 15 boys finished just outside the medals in fourth place.

Despite this, there were one or two notable displays, in particular from Joe Bibby, who scored 97 in the speed bounce to equal the national record for under 15 boys and take the gold medal.

The under 13 girls finished fifth in their competition.
