Oxford City Casuals coach Janet Kidd has been shortlisted in The Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year Awards in the Community Club Volunteer Award category.
Kidd, a qualified FA Level 1 coach, who lives in Eynsham and works at Oxford’s Cherwell School, reached the final after nominations were submitted online by the newspapers’ readers over the course of a month.
As well as coaching, Kidd carries out all the administrative duties for Casuals, which is made up of players with learning difficulties. The ages range from 11-years-old to 40.
Casuals have become inaugural members of the new BOBi League specifically formed this season to provide competitive football for players with learning disabilities. The league is a joint initiative by the Oxfordshire FA and Berks & Bucks FA.
Kidd is one of three people nominated for the award.
