OXFORD Eagles Under 18s’ glorious run in the National Sureshot Cup came to a predictable end whern they lost 96-58 at Sheffield in the semi-finals.
The hosts are second in the Northern Premier League, and this was always going to be a tough game for the Eagles.
Sheffield repeatedly turned the ball over, and their big forwards dominating the boards at both ends.
Eagles’ shooters desperately trying to catch up, but with little success.

In their latest Southern Conference match, Eagles’ Under 18s beat Cambridge Cats 90-51.
The third period proved to be the turning point when Pete Hemsley was given his chance by coach Bill Baker.
During the middle of the period, he scored 11 consecutive points for the home side, as Eagles, who had trailed early on, cruised to victory.
Oxford Eagles Under 16s went down 95-58 to Spartans.
Jordan Anderson (21) and Greg Abel (13) were Eagles’ leading scorers.
