Local lad Jacob Booty spent a day fishing the Tadpole Angling Club stretch of the Thames between Tadpole Bridge and Rushey Weir and landed a cracking 3.8.0 perch.
The fish took a No 3 Mepps spinner attached to 20lb wire trace.
You can fish the Tadpole stretch on a day ticket. I fished it several years ago for the barbel and had a bit of success there. It holds plenty of fish, some growing to a decent size.
- Spending 72 hours on a secret Oxfordshire pit, Hampshire angler Duncan Charman netted a 2.11.0 roach on double white maggot.
Duncan used a short 2lb breaking strain flurocarbon hooklink and a Preston 30 gram Quickload maggot feeder.
- Glasgow carper Chris Taylor travelled down to a freezing Orchid Lake, near Dorchester and was rewarded with a 32lb mirror carp.
Chris was down for a six-day session and had to wait untill the second day before he saw any action. The big carp took a tutti fruiti pop-up fished on top of a bed of hemp.
