Headington School acquitted themselves well to finish third in the South East of England’s netball tournament at East Grinstead.
After winning five of their six group matches at the G4S centre, Headington lost 14-5 to national champions Beaconsfield High in the semi-finals.
Headington were handicapped by an injury to captain Georgina Carr, which led to the team being reorganised.
The game was close in the first half, but Beaconsfield pulled away after the break.
In their group matches, Headington produced some outstanding shooting to beat Peter Symonds 14-8, Ryde 20-8, Worthing 13-2, Royal Latin 20-1 and St Marys 12-11.
Their only defeat came with a 14-10 loss to Dr Challoners.
Headington also took part in the under 14 and under 16 competitions, finishing in mid-table in both following their pool games.
