Premier Section leaders Shelley Arms C made no mistake at home to Section 1 opponents Berinsfield Community Centre B, running out 6-3 winners in their Ladies Winter league encounter.
The visitors took the opening game when Sam Moore defeated Paulette Guy, Irene Richardson beating Phil Young to make it all-square.
Berinsfield regained the advantage thanks to Gemma Dumper’s win over Hazel Prowton, but Pat Newman, Denise Pape and Cindy Chalmers put Shelley out of sight, and a 2-1 pairs win rounded off the victory.
Blackbird Bar moved into second place with a 9-0 victory over Crown House Club.
Shelley Arms D remain in contention when they made it six wins from six games after defeating Quarry Gate C 7-2.
Section 2’s top-of-the-table clash saw Team Monarch increase their lead to four points over Berinsfield Community Centre A after a 6-3 win.
Cricketers Arms A consolidated their position at the top of Section 3 after a convincing win over the visiting Donnington CC A.
Wins from Lorna Stubbs, Sam Walton, Sarah Murphy and Val Lashley gave Cricketers a 4-0 lead on the way to a 7-2 success.
Red Lion move a dozen points clear at the top of Section 4, after a 6-3 win at Folly Bridge Inn.
Only three points separate the top three teams in Section 6.
