Kidlington CC have confirmed that star all-rounder Dave Taylor has left the club, writes Ed Mezzetti.
Taylor joined Kidlington as director of cricket ahead of the 2007 season, and had a contract with the under-fire club until 2011.
He was captain for the 2007 campaign, and replaced Shahbaz Ali to resume the role in July last year.
In a statement, Kidlington vice-chairman John Moss said: “To confirm rumours which have circulated, KCC can confirm Dave Taylor has resigned from Kidlington Cricket Club.”
He added: “We wish Dave all the best and thank him for his support whilst at KCC.”
Taylor has joined Southern Premier League side Alton in Hampshire as a player-coach.
There were rumours Taylor was trying to leave Kidlington last summer.
At the time, he said: "If I wasn’t happy here, I wouldn’t be here.
“I travel from Andover every day.”
