Matt Todd and Kev Dawson fulfilled an 11-year-old ambition during an Oxford Harlequins intra-club match.
Todd and Dawson, who coach Quins’ under 17 team, played alongside their respective sons Joey and Jake.
All four featured for Quins’ white team, who beat their blue counterparts 62-54 in an entertaining match.
“Kev, Joey and Jake had played together in an intra-club match in November, but I have been awaiting knee reconstruction surgery, so was unable to take part,” said Todd.
“However, I strapped up the knee and played on Boxing Day before having the operation last week.
“I am now looking forward to a rematch next Boxing Day as Kev and I will be toiling in the Quins fourth team, while the youngsters star in the higher teams.
“To complete the set, younger son Daniel had a cameo role, taking a kick-off!”
Other family combinations to feature in the match included John Cope with sons Anthony and Jamie.
