Chris Bishop has resigned as chairman of the Oxfordshire Cricket Board’s Clubs, Leagues and Competitions committee after the OCB disassociated themselves from comments he made surrounding the plight of Cherwell League side Kidlington.
In a statement on the OCB website, board chairman Chris Clements said: “Chris's position became untenable after his fellow executive members failed to support his unauthorised e-circular to Oxfordshire clubs playing in the Cherwell League.
“Chris remains supportive of the OCB and we thank him for his contribution over the last three years.
Clements will chair the Clubs, Leagues and Competitions board until further notice.
Kidlington face a vote of expulsion at an EGM on Thursday, but Bishop wrote to clubs urging them to back the under-fire club.
