WITNEY United produced another of their amazing come-backs as they rallied from 2-0 down with 13 minutes left to pull of an unlikely 3-2 with at Fairford Town victory in the FTL Futbol Hellenic League on Saturday.

Even as the game entered injury time, Witney were still trailing, but they netted twice to stay second in the Premier Division.

After a goalless first half, it was no real surprise when Alex Rudd volleyed home at the back post from Joe Dorey’s cross to put Fairford ahead.

Shortly afterwards, Matt Reynolds crossed for Rudd to power home a header to make it 2-0.

With 13 minutes left, Witney got a lifeline when Ryan Curtin’s free-kick was cleared to John McMahon.

His shot broke to Andrew Younie who fired home intob the roof of the net.

In the first minute of injury time, McMahon struck home a thunderous effort to bring the scores level.

A collision between Reynolds and Lee Henderson meant an extended period of injury time, during which Younie fed Ben Thompson, who scored to complete a stunning turnround.

Kidlington recorded their first league victory since September with a revenge 2-0 win against title-chasing Almondsbury, who had knocked them out of this season’s FA Cup.

Both goals came in the first half. A free-kick from Stuart Cattell was nodded on by Jimmy Deabill into the path of Danny Wise who made it 1-0.

Deabill was again the provider for the second goal on the half-hour, knocking the ball back for Morgan Williams to fire home.

In the second half, Kidlington’s defensive trio of Jerry Kapral, Stuart Cattell and Mark Bayliss, on his debut, held the Almondsbury attack at bay, although their sub Sahr Kabba hit the underside of the bar with a fierce shot.

Abingdon United slipped to their fourth successive defeat as Carterton keeper James Domm starred for the visitors in a 1-0 success.

In the first half, Domm twice denied Abingdon’s Tom Larman.

Carterton scored the only goal midway through the second half, when Tom Fletcher headed home a right-wing cross .

With four minutes left, Larman thought he had equalised with a blistering free-kick only for Domm to tip it brilliantly around a post.

Ben Milner made a successful return for Hook Norton as he scored in their comfortable 2-0 victory at Pegasus Juniors.

In his first match since rejoining from Banbury United, Milner put Hooky ahead after 25 minutes, with a simple tap-in following good work by Joe Coleman on the right.

Coleman himself grabbed the second goal just before half-time when he scored at the far post from a left-wing cross from Carl Standen.

In an uneventful second half, Hooky had a golden opportunity to increase their lead on the hour when leading scorer Ricky Johnson shot over the bar with only the home ‘keeper to beat.

In the second game between the Milton United and Flackwell Heath in five days, both goals in a 1-1 drawcame within a minute of each other in the second half.

Before half-time, Milton’s Andrew Styles saw his fierce volley powered over the bar, while keeper Craig Griffiths brought off a great save at the other end.

Flackwell, who had knocked Milton out of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy in midweek, took the lead through Riccardo Can-non’s header.

However, 60 seconds later Paddy Malone equalised with a thunderbolt of a volley from 30 yards.

espitea spirited performance, Bicester went down 3-1 to in-form Shortwood, who lifted their tally to 19 points from the last seven games.

Rich Evans gave the visitors the lead with an early header. After Danny Phillips scuffed his close-range shot for Bicester, Peter Smith headed home Luke Benny-worth’s cross to make it 2-0.

After a period of pressure in the second half, Bicester pulled a goal back through Ben Williams, but Matt Green’s goal ten minutes from time sealed Shortwood’s win.
