One Dorchester Town player used to springing an FA Cup shock is midfielder Danny Clay, writes JON MURRAY.
Clay said: “Before this year, I had played only two seasons in the FA Cup. “When I was at Exeter City we got to the third round and played Manchester United. “At Salisbury we got to the second round and played against Nottingham Forest. We got a replay in both ties.”
Clay is confident the Magpies can pull off a shock at the Kassam Stadium today. “Oxford are beatable,” he said.
“Most of the squad at Dorchester have been there and done it before at Blue Square Premier level at the very least.
“All the pressure will be on Oxford. We go into the game in good form. “If we can keep their crowd quiet then I am sure we can cause an upset.”
Bookies list Dorchester at 5-1 to win at Oxford, with the U’s priced at 8-15 and the draw 11-4.
Oxford United or Dorchester will be No 6 in the FA Cup second-round draw, which takes place on ITV at 1.45pm on Sunday.
