Oxford Brookes Eagles under 18s showed great character to beat unbeaten league leaders Southend Swifts 77-70 in Essex in the South West Conference, with some great steals and interceptions from Mike Bird proving key.
Eagles had lost their way in the second quarter and trailed 43-35 before Bird and Lukas Aleksandravicius helped haul them back and then in front.

Eagles’ under 16 team were beaten 64-46 by NE Essex Jammers in the Sure Shot Cup, their first competitive game, despite looking the more skilful side.
