Dave Williams was left cursing his luck in Witney AC’s All-in Shield on the Oxford Canal at Cropredy. Not only did he lose four carp, one of them smashed his pole to pieces.
He ended up with just one chub of 2.10.0, enough for second place behind Terry Scanes, who triumphed with a carp and a couple of roach, on worm over chop well over, for 11.8.0.
Colin Manning finished third with 0.11.0 of perch. There were ten blanks among the 17-strong field.
