Three Oxfordshire bowlers have been selected to fly the flag for England in the Short Mat Bowls British Isles Championship in Northern Ireland next week.
Didcot Conservative Club’s Trevor Brown will play in the singles, while Wootton duo David and Roger Wiggins take part in the international event in the competition at Coleraine next Friday and Saturday.
In the international event, each country fields a team of four rinks, with each rink consisting of a side of four, and the match is decided on overall shots and not games won.
Ireland have been the most successful team over the years with England only winning the event once in 1992.
