Nathan Brooks is coaching Grove this week with the view to join the club permanently.
The former Chinnor back-row forward was coaching at Southern Counties North rivals Aylesbury earlier this season, and took charge of Gosford All Blacks last year.
If he takes up the post, Brooks, who watched Grove’s 26-20 defeat to Witney, will find his first task is to steer the club away from the relegation zone.
Grove manager Paul Maryon said: “I think Nathan will be what we need. He has already seen areas he can work on.”
