Witney coach John Campbell is urging local schools not to abandon the oval ball.
The majority of Witney’s squad are home-grown players, but Campbell is not taking this for granted.
He said: “I would like to see the less academic schools locally play more rugby.
“We are missing out because of a lack of good front-row forwards coming through.”
Oxfordshire Under 18s defeated Dorset & Wilts 7-3 in a blood and thunder clash at St Edward’s School.
Wing George Lewis scored Oxon’s only try, which was created and converted by fly half Jonny Morris.
