Oxford City Stars let slip a two-goal lead against Milton Keynes Thunder to drop another crucial point in South Division 1.

Despite racing ahead, Stars were pegged back and in the end had to rely on a goal from Richard Wojiack to salvage a point.

Things had started so well for Stars when Grant Bailey hammered home after just 22 seconds.

And with Milton Keynes shaken by the early blow, Stars continued to pour forward and doubled their lead when Darren Elliott scrambled a bouncing pass into the net following some good work by Alan Armour.

Stars missed several good chances to increase their lead at the start of the second period and were made to pay as a speculative long-range effort took a wicked deflection and found the net.

Five minutes later, Thunder equa-lised and the teams ended the period level at 2-2.

Stars started the final period well, but were again unable to find the crucial goal.

And Milton Keynes compounded their misery when they went ahead against the run of play.

Armour was then sent crashing into the boards and picked up a shoulder injury which meant he would take no further part in the game.

Coach Darryl Morvan was forced to shuffle his pack - and their pressure finally paid off when Wojciak made no mistake from a penalty.

Andrew Shurman had a golden opportunity to win it for Stars in the final minute, but opted to rifle a pass across goal that no-one could turn in.
