York City manager Colin Walker did not dispute the late penalty award at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
But he wasn't happy with his goalkeeper, Michael Ingham, who seemed to hesitate when Yemi Odubade started sprinting towards the penalty area.
Walker said: "I've got no complaints about the penalty. My keeper might have come for it, he didn't have far to go, but he didn't - and it's cost us."
The City boss felt there was much in the Minstermen's play that was good, although they had only one significant shot on target for the third match running, and that is clearly a problem for them.
"I've got a lot of positives to take out of the game," he said. "I thought Simon Rusk and Ben Purkiss combined very well, and Daniel McBreen had his best game in a York shirt."
The KitKat Crescent club are now wondering what kind of gate they will get when they take on Mansfield for the fourth time in a month in the Setanta Shield this week, while Oxford United travel to Forest Green Rovers in the competition's third round tomorrow night.
UNITED'S youth team lost 5-1 at home to Bristol Rovers in the Puma Youth Alliance U18 South West Conference.
James Dobson got their goal.
