Bracknell 0
Didcot Tn 1 (Roach 36)
Neville Roach’s first-half goal gave Didcot Town victory at Bracknell in Division 1 South & West - and took them up to second spot.
Roach headed past Max Aneke and just over the line in the 36th minute after Matt Bicknell’s initial corner was only half-cleared, before he drove the ball back into the middle.
Didcot dominated the match after a shaky start.
With the first attack of the game, former Oxford City striker Errol Telemaque burst through only to be cynically brought down by Andy Williams, who escaped with a yellow card.
Didcot were then indebted to a super block from keeper Michael Watkins to deny Telemaque.
Jack King went close forDidcot and Williams brought a stunning save out of Aneke before Roach broke the deadlock.
Another brilliant stop from Aneke denied Williams, while Roach had another shot which flew inches wide.
Driving rain saw cond-itions deteriorate further in the second half when the greatest threat to Didcot winning was the game being abandoned.
