Steve Kimber goes for his fourth successive Oxford Mail Cross Country League title as the new season gets under way at Ascott-under-Wychwood on Sunday.
The Headington Roadrunner has dominated the senior men's competition for the last three years, and will be keen to cling on to his title for another year.
This season will see eight race categories, in response to concerns about the jump that girls made from under 15 into senior racing.
All of last year's teams remain – with the exception of Blue Fins Tri Club.
There will be a new venue for the athletes at the back end of the season, with Woodstock Harriers hosting the final round at Clanfield.
- The league are searching for a new results co-ordinator for the 2009-10 season.
Fraser Howard, who has been in the role for four years, is retiring after this season, and a new co-ordinator is urgently required.
Anybody interested in the role can speak to any official on race day, and can learn the ropes from Fraser during this season.
