Henley Hawks director of rugby Jason Forster was quick to praise his pack after 21-14 victory over Canter- bury.
The result gave fourth-placed Hawks their fifth win in seven matches.
"Our forwards in particular played their best rugby of the season against what I considered to be a good competitive side, said Forster.
"I make special mention of young Alex Dupee, our open side flanker, who came of age in this game.
"Competition for places is getting keener and with it selection more difficult."
