Andover 1 (Barron 6)

Abingdon Utd 2 (Beechers 25, 90)

Billy Beechers hit a brace, including a last-gasp winner, as Abingdon United came from behind to see off Andover in Division 1 South & West.

Abingdon's initial early pressure was in vain as Andover went in front with their first shot of the match.

A fast run down the left saw the ball played to Jamie Barron, who fired home off the underside of the bar.

This set the tone for an end-to-end match, and Abingdon battled back strongly.

Beechers set up Julian McCalmon, who curled a ball towards the top corner, only for Andover keeper Dave Hook to save well.

But the visitors got their equaliser when Beechers sent in a low shot from the right, which sped under Hook's body.

Ben Weedon forced Hook into a fine finger-tip save, and from the corner, Tom Franklin's goalbound effort was blocked on the line.

The second half saw Luke Holden denied by Hook, and then Beechers tried to lob the Andover keeper from 25 yards, but the ball dropped onto the roof of the net.

At the other end, Sam Warrell had to palm away a curling shot.

Abingdon survived a close call when Michael Turvey tried to scramble the ball into the net, but James Organ cleared away.

Andover were reduced to ten men when a poor challenge on Weedon saw Paul Jones sent off.

Abingdon snatched a winner four minutes into stoppage time as Anaclet Odhiambo set up Beechers, who slammed home.
