Richard Norris (Sensas A4) caught 37.5.0 of chub to take the second round of the Winter League which was fished by 54 anglers on the Thames between Medley and Folly on Sunday.

Norris was in the middle of the mudflats on Medley and fished a blockend feeder and caster to land 16 chub.

Pegged at the top of the mudflats, Dan Varney (Garbolino Banbury Gunsmiths) weighed in three bream, plus skimmers, for a second-placed 21.10.0, all his fish falling to the groundbait feeder.

In third place was Matt Herbert (Drennan Oxford), just two ounces behind. He was pegged by the fallen tree and had seven chub and perch on pole and worm.

The ten anglers fishing Marston’s Dr Parks Trophy at Lower Court really struggled with a strong wind blowing down the lake.

John Perella fished pellet down the edge and put 37.8.0 of carp on the scales for first place.

Just behind him was Anthony Tompkins with 37.0.0 of carp on meat down the edge.

Fishing paste at about four metres, Pete Clarke weighed in 26.0.0 for third.

The Thames at the Oxford Reach was in top form for the Jolly Anglers' Adrian Payne Pairs match fished by 12.

Lee Edmunds weighed in 30.0.0 on maggot feeder, 29lb of which comprised chub up to 5.1.0.

Fishing the waggler and maggot, Anthony Brooker landed 14.15.0 of roach for second.

Third place went to Dave Mitchell with 11.13.00 of chub, again on maggot-feeder.

Beehive AC fished the third leg of their Beehive Cup on the Thames at Radley, where the 15 anglers found the river in good condition, although leaves were a problem.

In first place with 24.15.00 was Kevin Jeacock, who netted three chub, including a personal best specimen of 5.13.0, and three bream on chopped worm and caster.

Andy Crabb was second with three chub and some perch weighing 6.8.0, followed by Andy Waters with one bite – one chub worth 4.13.0 on groundbait feeder and maggot.

A very clear Thames at Clifton was fished by 15 in the third round of Masons AC's individual winter series, and half the field didn't even register a bite.

Three anglers pegged near the hotel managed to find chub on the feed and fished maggot-feeders over to the tins, all three catching some good chub.

Alan Smith triumphed with 17.12.0, his largest chub weighing 4.8.0. Second was Steve Morton with 17.9.0, including a chub of 4.14.0, and third was Dave Pether with 11.10.0, which contained the largest chub of 5.4.0.

The Oxford Bus AC school waters looked in perfect nick for the seven fishermen who turned up for this latest match, but looks can be deceiving.

Mark Heath fished caster mid-stream for a net of perch and roach for a winning 7.10.0.

Bob Heath had a few roach and perch on maggot for 2.4.0 from a very shallow peg, followed by Brian Hiles, who fished maggot midstream and caught roach and perch for 2.0.0.

Kidlington fished their Henry Clarke Cup on the Oxford Canal at Grovelands, and the 11 members found this stretch was 'nothing special'.

Top spot went to Alan Middleton with 6.8.0 of skimmers and roach on punch and pinkie over squatt.

Henry Clarke used squatt over groundbait and caught small roach, gudgeon and skimmers for 3.15.0, while Maurice Winstone had 2.14.8 of small roach on punch for third place.

There was fair turnout for Yarnton AC's match on the Thames at Cassington, where the river still had a bit of flow.

Catching two chub – one of which weighed 5.7.8 – from the far bank on feeder and worm, Pete Oliver weighed in 6.4.8 to emerge the clear winner.

Paul Willoughby had two roach on feeder worth 0.5.12, followed by George Thomas with a roach going 0.2.8.

Dorchester fished an inter-league match on North Oxford's water at Marston Ferry link road and it was hard work for the eight anglers.

Fishing pole and maggot, Dave Head had a decent perch plus bits to win with 5.10.0.

Lol Budd finished second with 3.8.0, a tench and a chublet on pole and maggot, while Ian Smith used the pole and maggot for 2.4.0 and third.
