Oxfordshire got off to a mixed start in the County Veterans League, losing 6-4 to Dorset and then coming from behind to draw 5-5 with Worcestershire.
Karl Bushell claimed three victories against Dorset, but it was not enough as Andy Misseldine's singles success was Oxon's only other point.
Bushell, Misseldine and Eddie Herrity each won once against Worcester, before Bushell and Misseldine again claimed a doubles victory.
Trailing 5-4, Janet Brown and Misseldine needed to win their mixed doubles which they duly did.
OXFORD drew 5-5 with Leicester in the Midland League, despite leading 5-3.
Bushell claimed a hat-trick of victories, with Misseldine claiming the other two wins.
