Didcot Town boss Stuart Peace will have to leave defender Ricky Allaway out of his plans after he signed for British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West rivals Slough Town.

The centre back is the second defender to leave the Railwaymen for the Berkshire side following the departure in the summer of Richard Peirson.

Peace was reluctant to let go of Allaway who joined before the start of this campaign from Thatcham where he was captain.

"They are looking for a centre half and he is not first choice," said Peace who also has Andy Williams and Martin Brown on his books.

"We were playing three centre halfs earlier in the season, but we recently switched to 4-4-2, so I was playing him at left back.

"I don't want him to go, but that's the trouble with trying to keep three quality centre backs at a club.

"But I understand his reasons for going."

Didcot will be without Richard Witt for Saturday's home game against Taunton.

He is who is still away in India where he is working for Reading FC.

Lee Farrow is set to make his North Leigh debut after signing on loan from Abingdon United.

With first-choice keeper Richard Barrett on holiday, they were going to draft in second-string keeper Chris Herbert. However, he dislocated a shoulder in the second half of the reserves' 5-0 win against Wantage Town.

Meanwhile, boss Mark Gee says he has no qualms about Andrew Helby's sending off during their 3-1 defeat against Gosport Borough.

The full back was red-carded for retaliating to a bad challenge from a Gosport opponent.

Gee said: "Their player stood on him and Andrew got sent off for pushing him. I have no sympathy.

"You can't raise your hands."

Abingdon United welcome back Mark Burton, Tom Franklin and Jordan Parker for their trip to Andover.

However, striker Ryan Curtin has joined Hellenic League side Witney United.

Manager Andy Slater said: "He's got a lot of ability, but his performances have not been as consistent as I would have liked.

"I'm disappointed he has stepped down a level, but I have got a few people lined-up to take his place."
