Jamie Newport's first-half brace gave Division 2 leaders Didcot Casuals a 2-0 win over first division Steventon in the North Berks Cup first round, writes ANDY WELLS.

He tucked the ball home from an acute angle to open the scoring in the 38th minute, and then doubled his tally in first-half injury time.

First division AFC Wallingford demolished Division 3 side Benson Lions 10-1.

Tom Hammond hammered a four-timer with Sam Elkins (2), Andy Gibbons (2), Danny Woods and Barry Primmer completing the rout. Graeme Munro replied for Benson.

Lawrence Hoey hit a brace – including a stunning volley – as Blewbury edged past Division 1 rivals Harwell Village 3-2.

Tom Ingram was also on target for Blewbury, with a Matty Aplin penalty and John-Robert Willis providing Harwell's goals.

Phil Hedges hit a hat-trick as Division 1 high-fliers Crowmarsh Gifford crushed second division Grove Rangers 5-0. Andy Allum and Tom Banks also netted.

In North Berks League Division 1 basement battle, Ardington & Lockinge picked up their first points with a 3-2 win over Harwell International.

Chris Whitworth, Gareth Fenton and Chris Roche scored for Ardington with Johnny Eudell bagging both Harwell goals.

A Danny Curran strike gave Drayton a 1-0 win at Lambourn Sports.

Jim Oliver struck twice as Benson AFC moved into second spot in Division 2 with a 3-1 home win over Coleshill United. Danny Lucas was the Coleshill marksman.

East Hendred ran out 3-1 winners away to Sutton Courtenay.

Adam Wise, Steve Cudden and Adam Sell were on the scoresheet.

Botley United’s five-game winning streak in Division 3 came to an end with a 2-1 defeat by Drayton Res.

Bobby Pearson and Ben Taboada struck to shock Botley, who replied through Keith Bruce.

Long Wittenham Athletic moved into third place following a 2-0 win over Grove Rangers Res.

Andy Marriott and Joe Harvey were the Wittenham scorers.

In the Nairne Paul Cup first round, Shrivenham A beat Harwell International Res 5-4 on penalties after the tie finished 2-2 after extra time.

Harry Heath and Jack Dodd scored for Shrivenham with Lee Absolom bagging a brace for Harwell.

Marcham Res pipped Coleshill Res 5-3 after extra time.

Wes Costar (2), Luke Westall (2) and Leighton Jackson netted for Marcham.

East Hendred Res, last year's finalists, crashed out 3-1 at home to Lambourn Sports Res.

Andy Hallett scored for Hendred, but Lambourn triumphed with goals from Stuart Denton, Martyn Benson and Ricky Davis
