Vale of White Horse Under 11s let slip a two-goal lead as they went down 4-3 against St Albans in the County League at Harvesters FC.
Michael Ledbury lobbed the keeper to give Vale the lead and two minutes later Kai Barrett raced down the right to fire home No 2.
St Albans pulled a goal back with a penalty before they introduced two physically stronger strikers in the second half, and they grabbed three goals between them to put the home side 3-2 ahead.
Michael Ledbury pulled one back for Vale, but they were unable to force an equaliser.
