Hannah Williamson scored twice as Oxford Hawks moved up to second in Women's South Clubs' League Division 1 with a 3-1 victory at Havant, who are always difficult opponents.

oHawks began to dominate and emerged the stronger team when Cat Hulley used a reverse-stick sweep to put them ahead.

The lead was then doubled as Amy Bryant took a quick free hit in her unusual role as sweeper, from the defending 25. The ball was then transferred to Kelly Fogden, who passed to Williamson to slot home.

The third goal saw defender Kelly Scott drive the ball up the left side of the pitch and pick out Williamson once again, and she needed no encouragement to lift the ball into the goal.

Havant showed resilience and determination by pulling a goal back midway through the second half but they could not convert any more chances as Hawks' defence stayed strong.

Hulley's goal and workrate throughout earned her the man-of-the-match accolade.

Karen Easterbrook's brace could not help West Witney as they lost 5-2 at Wycombe in Division 3A.

City of Oxford are in second place, two points behind Staines 2nd, after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Bracknell.

The home side opened the scoring after 17 minutes, scrambling the ball in on a rebound.

But City equalised two minutes later when a free hit from outside the D by Rachel Lammey was deflected in at the near post by captain Clare Shaw.

City's winner came in the 24th minute. Anna Nicholson and Shaw combined to set up Kirsty Brammer, who scored from the open side.

City dominated the second half, with Anne-Marie Davenport outstanding, and they fully deserved their win.

Oxford Hawks 2nd notched their first win of the season with an excellent 4-0 victory against Newbury in Division 3A – and they had four different goalscorers.

Beth Warne, Heather Miller, Sue Clark and Kim Johnson were all on target.

Banbury lost 3-2 at Staines 2nd.

After trailing, Vicky Page equalised from a well-worked penalty corner and Natasha Nunneley put them 2-1 up by finishing off a flowing passing movement with a fine strike into the bottom corner.

However, Staines finished strongly.
