Banbury Utd 0

Burnham 1 (Bird 40)

Banbury keeper Andy Wheeler went from hero to zero in the FA Trophy as his side slid to a narrow home defeat at the hands of Burnham, who play in Divison 1 South & West in the British Gas Business Southern League.

Wheeler starred in the 28th minute when preventing Ben Hudell scoring from the penalty spot.

Two minutes later, Banbury had the ball in the Burnham net, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Sam Southerdon.

The only goal of the game came in the 40th minute when Burnham captain Ryan Bird chipped a remarkable 50-yard shot into the net after spotting Wheeler well off his line.

The game was halted for five minutes during the second half following a clash of heads between Banbury's Howard Forinton and Burnham's Chris Owens.

On the restart, Banbury's Scott Bridges went over in the penalty area, but the referee waved away appeals for a penalty.

And Burnham held on without undue alrm.
