Tiverton Tn 5 (Walsh 23, 34, 38, Willis 56, Knighton 71)

North Leigh 2 (Cooper 15, Futcher 36)

North Leigh were made to pay for taking the lead as they slipped to a heavy defeat against their Southern League Premier Division hosts in the FA Trophy.

The visitors took the lead from a superb free-kick by Paul Cooper from fully 30 yards which saw keeper Steve Book motionless as the ball flew past him into the top corner.

Tiverton upped their game and Phil Walsh put them ahead with two headed goals.

Leigh made it 2-2 on 36 minutes when Ben Reardon threaded a delightful ball through the Tiverton defence for Simon Futcher to score from close range.

Walsh completed his hat-trick by forcing the past keeper Richard Barrett from close range before half-time.

Leigh pushed forward seeking an equaliser, but it was Tiverton who scored the crucial fourth goal on 56 minutes when from a harshly awarded free-kick, Tiverton's captain Matt Willis headed home.

Leigh now pushed forward, but from a breakaway Tiverton's Tom Knighton secured the win for the home side as he drew Barrett and slid the ball into the net.

North Leigh: Barrett, Reardon (Threlfall 74), Helby, Cooper, Huxley, Dodds, Burnell, Hutter (Simms 63), McCabe, Hope (Dennis 74), Futcher.
