Riley A chalked up their fourth successive win to stay top of Division 1 after beating nearest challengers Fieldside 2-1.

Newcomer Matthew Challen (+40) gave Riley A a superb start when he beat Norman Woodcock (+70) 200-142.

Mike Chapman (+100) levelled the match by beating Allan Copelin (+90) 150-123.

Malcolm Bough (+70) secured his fourth win a row when he defeated Paul Robinson (+60) 200-156 to give Riley A a 2-1 win.

Thame beat Riley B 3-0, but it could have been closer as Riley B's Roger Tomlin (+70) led Peter Hawkes (+130) 149-139.

But Tomlin could not get the elusive point, going down 150-149 as Hawkes gained his first success of the season.

Thame skipper Tom Fletcher (+80) overcame Doug Baker (+60) 150-120, and Paul Evans (+20) wrapped it up with breaks of 22 and 27 to beat Bob Hayward (+70) 200-145.

CCC A beat HCC A 2-1 in Division 1 as Terry Cook (+20) got the better of John Williams (+70) 200-189 and Keith Pearce (+50) defeated Terry Walsh (+90) 15-112.

Doug Howse (+30) saved HCC getting white-washed by edging out Dick Hashman (-10) 200-194.

New Club won 2-1 away to champions Oracle.

Ian Gee (+50) beat Oracle newcomer Craig Pullen (+100) 150-115, before Alan King (+30) made it a winning 2-0 by beating Shaun Lewis (+100), 200-174, knocking in a 23 break.

Gordon Cook (+80) saved Oracle from a whitewash when he beat Alan Mander (+60) 150-96.

Ashton came from behind to beat CCC B 2-1 and preserve their unbeaten record in Division 2.

Brian Mabbutt (+20) saw off Peter Fenn (+50) 200-179 to put CCC ahead.

But Ashton won the next two games and the match when John Street (+70) beat Ken Oliver (+70) 150-107, and Terry Chambers (scratch) defeated John Simpson (+30) 200-135.
