A Winter League Practice Open was held on Medley last weekend in preparation for Sunday's big match.

The 45 matchmen found the Thames very clear and with the bright sunshine, fishing was hard.

There was a tie for top spot.

Pegged on the last peg in the poplars, Dan Varney (Garbolino Banbury Gunsmiths) landed a bream, a large chub and two perch early on for 15.3.0 on feeder and worm.

Richard Rosinski (Sensas A4) was pegged below the Perch pub and started on pole and worm, and then switched to waggler and maggot. He caught four chub and a few roach also worth 15.3.0.

Sat right up at the top end of Medley, John Hassler (Fox Isis) netted three bream on feeder and worm worth a third-placed 13.0.0.
