Corner House produced a stirring comeback to record the narrowest of wins over Nelson B in the Oxford 3's competition.
Dave Bartlett (7,320), Sean Stratford (8,950) and then Bartlett again (3,760) put Nelson into a 3-1 lead.
But Alan Oliver and Ian Moss won the final two matches to leave the scores level at 3-3, but the margin of their victories meant that Corner House were 460 points ahead overall and edged through.
Meanwhile, Keith Sheard beat Mark Trafford 2-0 in the Off The Spot singles held at the Shelley (12,940- 5,770).
Sheard and Trafford then teamed up in the Pairs competition to beat Jason Cattermole & Mike Jones 3-0.
The first game saw Sheard play out the table with 22,040.
The second saw a narrower success, 6,260-4,880, before Sheard really turned on the style in the final frame, recording a break of 10,680 for victory.
