Up to 1,000 runners will be in action when the Abingdon Marathon returns on Sunday after a year's break.
The event, organised by Abingdon Amblers, had been due to celebrate its 25th birthday on the regular October date last year.
But it had to be called off because of a lack of volunteers to assist with the organisation.
ALCHESTER'S ladies only Candleford Canter 10k Road Race takes place on Sunday, October 26 (11am), starting from Fringford Village.
It is a single lap course over an area made famous in the book Larkrise To Candleford by Flora Thompson.
