Oxford United are to introduce a new priority pass to reward fans who are not season ticket holders but go to many of their games.

The idea came from one of the supporters who went to see new U's chairman Kelvin Thomas last week.

It's a way for fans to get behind the club as they try to deal with their short-term financial difficulties.

The new 'Lucky 7' priority pass gives supporters the chance to save money and also back the U's.

Anyone buying a Lucky 7 pass from United's ticket office will receive an extra ticket free.

But the club say there will be limited availability. Lucky 7 tickets can be used all season, but must be bought before the end of October.

Thomas said: "One of the recurring themes over the last week or so of meeting with fans has been the desire for a deal for fans who did not commit to a full season ticket, but do come along to the majority of our home matches.

"This is a simple way of supporting the team. We have 16 home league games left and hopefully fans who take up this offer will also come along to a number of games beyond their deal."

With the Lucky 7 pass, supporters can: * Use the voucher at the turnstile at any eight league matches between now and the end of the season * Guarantee a seat, whichever game you attend * Choose which game you come to but save time and hassle on the day * Get priority (after season ticket holders) to buy your seat for cup and all-ticket games
