Chipping Norton's director of rugby Andy Dawson was far from delighted at their victory over Grove.

He said: "We are a lot better than that. We should have put them to the sword.

"We have got a team that is full of quality.

"If we had got our kicks, we could have had 35 points, but local derbies are always the hardest, so we'll take a solid win.

"I thought the referee was a bit fussy. We were penalised a lot for going over the top at rucks, but they were standing off them."

Grove manager Paul Maryon said: "We played well, but it was just some missed tackles and little lapses of concentration that cost us.

"That was how they got their tries.

"They are a good, well-drilled side.

"They finished their chances, but unfortunately we didn't get that many.

"It was frustrating that we didn't have our first-choice props, but the guys that came in did well."
