Banbury Utd 4, Bedford Tn 0

A double from Scott Bridges saw Banbury United record their biggest Premier Division win of the season on Saturday.

The scoreline was even more remarkable as Bedford had conceded just three goals in the previous ten games.

Banbury took the lead when Howard Forinton headed in Lewis Travers's corner for his first goal since rejoining the club.

Six minutes later, Scott Bridges doubled their lead when Nicky Gordon cut the ball back from the byeline after good work from Kameron Abassi and Travers.

In the second-half, Banbury keeper Andy Wheeler denied Akin Aladetoun and Andrew Phillips. Banbury got a third when their Oxford United loanee defender Luke Bennett scored his first goal for the club, hooking the ball home after Ben Milner headed on another Travers corner.

Two minutes later, Andy Wheeler saved Jamie Gould’s penalty.

Akin Aladetoun’s header hit a post, before sub Stevie Howkins set up Scott Bridges for his second and he made no mistake from 12 yards.

In injury-time, Banbury almost got a fifth, but Kameron Abassi's header hit the bar.
