Chinnor face another potential basement battle when they visit Richmond in National 3 South tomorrow, with Ben Hewitt returning to the side.
Richmond, who were expected to challenge near the top, are only three points ahead of Chinnor after losing their last three matches.
And with five points separating seven places, the bottom half of the table is already very tight.
Chinnor coach Jason Bowers said: "We are looking forward to the challenge of Richmond.
"They have not had the best of starts either.
"Last week against Worthing for 73 minutes, we controlled the game.
"It was only the end of the match, which cost us.
"We've still been competitive in every game we've played.
"We just need to get some more points on the board."
Flanker Max Williams could make his first-team debut in place of the suspended Angus Neilson.
With wing Pip Seymour injured, James Serrano or Tom Shiel will come into the squad.
Hewitt will play his first game after returning from Australia, but in which position remains to be seen.
Bowers said: "Ben is a full back, who has been playing outside centre and at ten in Australia.
"It's more a case of finding where he fits into the team as he is very versatile."
He added: "We played a firsts versus seconds game on Tuesday, which gave us the chance to blow off a few cobwebs.
"It also gave me a great opportunity to look at the second team, who are doing really well."
Henley Hawks expect their toughest test so far when they visit Rosslyn Park – the team just below them in the table.
Full back Ralph Smith, hooker Jack Matthews and wing Pete Davies should all be back from injury.
Lock Charlie Nixon has put in a strong claim to partner the established Dave Clements, while RAF duo Steve Green and Nick Tuckett make second row a strong position.
James Gaunt, who scored a try last week, and Tommy Turner should continue their successful half-back partnership.
Rosslyn Park could field three former Henley players in Chris Simmons, Adam Gates and Billy O'Driscoll.
